Don't Fall In Love With Your Business Website:

Globalization, liberalization and privatization, together along with huge and rapid strides made by Information technology have completely redefined the business. To cope up with the increasing competition it has become necessary to be flexible with your business and provide customers with the need of the hour.

When I look at my own business, I can notice the changes coming. When I have a look around, I find the guys who were new and different few years ago, are now old but still different. All this gives me hope to add flexibility to my own business and to give flexibility to every small things related to my business. When it comes to your business website, it is very important that with times you introduce changes in it, to keep it appealing among your potential customers.

Look at how Apple has redefined the way, music was available to us. Or how Videocon have completely changed its logo to go with, "Go Green" concept. All this was possible because they were ready to let go there year old image and change their logo, website design and many more things. To cope up with this pace and to be open for changes, it is very important that you should not fall in love with your website.

I have came across people who get so attached to a part of their website, that they don't want to let it go, even if it is costing them their sales, reputation and sometimes even more. Web is full of articles that tell you the factors to be taken care of while making a business website. One point you will repetitively come across is "Website should reflect and stick to its purpose"

If your website is designed specifically for ecommerce or for sales - don't be stubborn. Change it as per the requirement. Getting fixated at one little part of website can cost you the entire site. The sole purpose of your business website is to promote business and help your potential customer reach you. Every part of your website, should aim at getting your potential customers to buy your product or service. Sticking with something just because you like it, or you are attached to it, reflects your unprofessionalism and bad business sense

So don't get attached to any part of your website. You should give emphasis upon marketing of your products/services in the changing business scenario. After all that is what your site is meant for. The site itself is not important. It's the business that counts.
